Jakes (author of The Lady, Her Lover, and Her Lord) has assembled an inspirational collection of God's promises, as well as his own suggested vows of praise and appreciation for God's love and forgiveness. As a tool for prayer and comfort, this is a well-organized and easy-to-use handbook. Prayer headings speak to the variety of painful circumstances that lead women into conversation with God, including such issues as abuse, betrayal, financial difficulty, and guilt. Beneath each heading is a two-page spread: On the left are biblical quotes that speak to the specific problem; on the right are soothing promises from God and a vow women can make in response. There's even a section in the back called "Waling Women's Prayer Pages" for women to use to write their own thoughts, troubles, and thanks. Readers who have found comfort and support from Jakes's previous books will certainly be pleased with this latest companion.

from "abuse" to "yearning", TD Jakes' inspirational book details a bible verse for every situation and healing words that uplift the spirit and soothes the soul. For women who are going thru tough times in their lives and making "baby steps" to the Lord, this book will be dog-eared thru multiple use and constant referencing, never straying far from the coffee table or bedside. The underlying message is that we mortals must realize that God has a plan for our lives and that our pain/suffering/loss is a temporary building block on the steps for him to receive, then deliver us. A MUST-HAVE those who love TD's work and/or those who have "drama" they're trying to make sense of.
